Icon of Made in Italy in the world, Tod's was founded in the early twentieth century by Filippo Della Valle, a shoemaker who sewed soles and uppers in the home kitchen. Later in the 1960s, his son Dorino founded the first artisan company in Sant 'Elpidio a Mare; still today the main headquarters of the company. In 1979 his brother Diego Della Valle joined the company and, after having completed marketing studies in the USA, was given the leadership of the company. He opens his first office in Milan and creates the brand for women's shoes"Diego Della Valle". At the beginning of the Eighties Diego launched the first"Gommino"moccasins with the Tod's brand, with the iconic rubber sole, made up of 133 small spheres:he was soon known all over the world and his shoes began to be worn also by celebrity. Even today, each product is made following precise techniques of high Italian craftsmanship that allow the creation of extraordinary objects, imitated and desired all over the planet.
