NEW BALANCE: In 1906 the young shoemaker William J. Riley founded the New Balance Arch Support Company in Boston, producing orthotics and accessories capable of improving the fit of shoes. Subsequently in 1938 the first running shoe was produced, conceived with great attention to health and quality. After several vicissitudes, in 1961, the"Trackster"was launched on the market, the first sports shoe with the sole raised under the heel and produced in six different plant widths. This model led New Balance to a reputation as an innovator and manufacturer of cutting-edge shoes. His success was extraordinary right from the start. From six workers employed, the company expands, moving towards worldwide distribution. To date, New Balance remains a company faithful to its values as always, where, therefore, integrity, teamwork and social responsibility make it the strong points.
